Christ Up!

Christian Rise Up is a Christian Ministry that encourage people to respond to the call of God…

Then I returned and considered all the oppression that is done under the sun: And look! The tears of the oppressed, but they have no comforter—on the side of their oppressors there is power, but they have no comforter.”  Ecclesiastes 4:1

Along with prayers, people also needs compassion, and we encourage you to take part to the cause and walk with Jesus.

Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did. 1 John 2:6

The world needs people who are willing to help. Jesus doesn’t only preach, doesn’t just pray, He also makes sure that His sheep’s needs are met.

Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I have compassion for these people; they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away hungry, or they may collapse on the way.” Matthew 15:32

It’s time for us Christians to rise up and put God’s teaching into action.  Christ Up Ministry is not asking you to help the Ministry, the Ministry is asking you to help your neighbor. Regardless of their condition, status, state of affairs, circumstances, situations, past, sin, blunder, faults, ways and behavior. Let us manifest compassion unconditionally like what Jesus did.

We define popular culture as a contemporary life style that is popularly accepted in the society, whether right or wrong, moral or immoral. Since we are currently living in a post modernism era, every opinion is almost always considered right. But, does modern advertising really have a lot to do with this “Liberal Lifestyle” that we also call “Pop Culture”?

Internet advertising and internet marketing spread out like mushrooms in the past years, it has now becoming so popular especially with students and young professionals. With the hi-tech animation that we see on the internet, with the artistic and edgy website designs that attracts the eyes, not to mention website creation is easier with WordPress, no wonder internet marketing or internet advertisement is becoming popular to the popular culture.

It is nice to hear that because of these kind of advertisements, products are now selling better, businesses are booming, sales figures are increasing and economy is improving. But sadly, while we are enjoying these things, one thing is suffering, that is, the very market that we’re catering… the youth and the young professionals. Since we are now living in a liberal lifestyle where most people doesn’t put weight on censorship anymore, it has now becoming more dangerous because of the easy access that we have in the internet. Popular culture has been part of our life and indirectly teaches us especially the youth on how they should act, what brand should they buy, what should they wear and how they should talk, in other words, the culture teaches them on how to become popular. But which really shapes which? Can we blame advertisements for shaping the culture? Or do we blame the culture in shaping how we do advertisements? However you put it, these two goes hand in hand, but can we say pop culture and advertising are the only factors that is shaping the lifestyle that we are living today?

No matter where you go, we will always be surrounded by these advertisements; we will always live in this pop culture and it will always have an effect on our children whether positively or negatively, either way parents should be well aware of it. We have to be aware that we can shape a person’s personality through different ways and the best way to start the shaping up is during the growing up years of the child. The values that we instill our youth today can help them get through living in this culture. The character and personality of a person has to be molded by the parents and the older generations and we shouldn’t let advertisement or the culture dictates how our children should grow up to be. Therefore, we cannot put all the blame on free censorship advertisements or the pop culture itself. The older generation also has a part in shaping up our youth, and parents should always be involved in raising up their child.

We should always remember that living in the pop culture is inevitable; but it shouldn’t dictate us on what lifestyle we should be living… we just have to have the control over it.
